Governor's Island

This charming place is literally an island of tranquility in the shadow of Lower Manhattan’s skyscrapers. The former home of New York’s colonial governors is now host to art festivals, community activities, biking, boating and countless other ways to kick back in the middle of bustling New York Harbor.
